The website provides companies with search opportunities in the Community, and their installation on Aragon platforms
Aragon Logistics Platform (APL) has just been presented as a joint offer of all logistics assets in the Autonomous Community, both from the point of view of top quality available land and cutting edge services available to companies in the sector, along with training for highly qualified workers. In order to describe all the advantages Aragon has to offer in terms of logistics, a website (www.aragonplataformalogistica.es) has been opened featuring a search engine for available sites on the three main platforms in the region.
The website will provide companies with a search tool to find opportunities in the Community and to install them on the public logistics platforms in Aragon,. This is done with a single search engine to locate all the sites at these facilities and access specific details about them, such as surface area, location, GPS position and development conditions (setbacks, development potential, permitted surface area, height, etc.).
Moreover, the website features information about the companies comprising the APL: Plaza (Zaragoza Logistics Platform), Plhus (Huesca Logistics Platform), Platea (Teruel Logistics Platform) and Expo (Zaragoza Empresarial), although it will also be possible to consult information about the logistics offer at PLFraga (Fraga Logistics Platform) and in the near future on the offer at Sodecasa (Calamocha).
The corporate website also features descriptive information about other participants in the joint initiative, who will be present through the Advisory Council of the APL to design strategic lines of action by the Regional Government. These include Plata (Teruel Airport), ZCL (Zaragoza Logistics Center), ITAInnova, over 200 companies in the logistics cluster Alia, TMZ (Zaragoza Maritime Terminal), Mercazaragoza, Arex (Aragon Exterior), the Pilot Programme by the Aragon Public Works Institute, Aena, Adif and the Monzon Intermodal Terminal (TIM, private).
These companies comprise the logistics offer in Aragon in terms of land, training and goods transport, and jointly make Aragon a very attractive choice for investment by private companies who want to set up in the region. The ultimate goal of this action is to give a voice to the concerns that businesses already established in Aragon may have, logistics infrastructure managers, companies providing services related to the sector and advanced centres of specific training.
International logistics reference
In the coming weeks, the Government Council will approve the creation of the company APL to give legal status to this initiative, which was created with the intention of promoting participation by public and private agents in the policy by the Aragon Regional Government, along these lines. This is considered a strategic factor in this legislature, as claimed at the presentation of the brand by the President of the Regional Government, Javier Lambán, a few days ago, who entrusted leadership of the project to the Department of Economy, Industry and Employment through Councillor Marta Gastón.
The future public company will unify the management of all public logistics platforms in the Autonomous Community, European leaders in the offer of logistics land in Spain. Creating this company showcases the clear commitment by the Aragon Regional Government to logistics, and the intention of converting the Autonomous Community in a benchmark at international level in this sector.
APL will be a company fully owned by the Autonomous Community, with shareholding through the public company “Corporación Empresarial Pública de Aragón” as the single partner. Through this new structure, the aim is to optimise and speed up management of these assets and centralise the decision-making process in the different companies. Additionally, the creation of technical committees open to participation by the municipalities involved in the platforms is considered, such as those in Zaragoza, Huesca, Teruel, Calamocha and Monzón, with the intention of these institutions taking part in speeding up procedures for eventual implementation of facilities, among others.
At the moment the company is in the process of incorporation procedures by the Aragon Regional Government, and will come to light over the coming weeks.
