The Economy and Employment Councillor of the Aragon Regional Government, Francisco Bono, visited the IO facilities this morning, located in the Zaragoza Logistics Platform, PLAZA. The business group is presided by Juan Manuel Álvarez, who accompanied Bono on his trip around the offices. The Group employs 250 people and comprises eight companies: Pyrenalia, Opinat, Twindocs, Realvox, Agens, World Health Management, Pyrentec and the latest creation,Data Noise. Setting up this latest project – aimed at providing consultancy, technology and sub-contracting services in the field of “Big Data” – has been supported by the public Company for Industrial Development of Aragon (Sodiar). The promoters expect 18 new, highly-qualified workers will join the project in the mid-term.
Councillor Bono pointed out that the contribution by Sodiar to this innovative initiative has materialised through participation in the share capital (9%) and a shareholder’s loan that has just been formalised. Francisco Bono also emphasised that the investment process by the Group in niche technological companies started two years ago “revealing that innovation has always been in the Corporation’s DNA”.
“Big Data” refers to technologies and tools that permit resolving different types of limitations associated with processing large volumes of data which, as they are so big, cannot be processed, stored and analysed using conventional methods. According to IO’s managers, handling huge amounts of data “is important because that data is more important today than ever before, but the exponential growth and the complexity have overwhelmed the capacity of most companies to manage it and benefit from it”. In fact, Juan Manuel Álvarez reminded us that “a report by the World Economic Forum claimed that data comprises a new type of economic asset, such as money or gold”.
DataNoise is the name chosen for the new company, and although it is initially a company belonging to the Group, its services and shareholdings “are open to future collaborators and clients. In fact, Sodiar is accompanying us at the outset of this journey, through its vocation to drive and the benchmark that it is”, mentioned Juan Manuel Álvarez.
IO Corporación was founded in 1993 by a group of entrepreneurs with wide experience in consultancy and outsourcing, providing services since then to major corporations and the Public Administration. Their customer portfolio includes the Prado Museum, various regional governments, savings banks, insurance companies, health care companies, etc.
