Last November 2016,Aragón, Plataforma Logística signed an agreement with the Zaragoza Logistics Center (ZLC) and the Aragon Technology Institute (ITAInnova) to create a support line towards logistic excellency in Aragon. This aims to facilitate the creation of top class professionals with advanced training in the subject, and to promote the image of Aragon as a logistic brand.
Through the Aragon Logistics Platform, the Regional Government of Aragon has allocated a budget of 70,250 euros for various actions in this area. These include the sponsorship of the Summer Academy in Logistics Supply Chain Management, a high-impact logistics event for major international companies. The event is planned from 20th to 28th June 2017, for experts from the leading companies in the sector, who will present their experience with innovations applied in the most outstanding companies in this section of world business. It is a great opportunity for students to learn from professionals and students from other institutions and countries, all with a common feature: the excellent training they have.
The programme is managed by the Aragon Logistics platform and includes a total of ten training grants in the ZLC. One of these grants is to finance 50% of the Master of Engineering in Logistics and Supply Chain Management (ZLOG) which provides training in supply chain management for the global environment. The master course is delivered by the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), the chief University in this field. It prepares students to create an impact on a wide range of companies at international scale. The aim is to train future leaders in the field of logistics and supply chain management.
The remaining grants are targeted at other masters delivered by the ZLC and to specific training of recent graduates and to the professional development of employees.
